Igor graduated from medical school in 1993 and completed his residency and fellowships in Cardiology and Cardiac Intensive care at the National Institute of General and Urgent Surgery, Kharkov Ukraine.
In 2004 Igor became Chief of Cardiac Surgery and Emergent Cardiology in the National Institute of General and Urgent Surgery, Kharkov Ukraine where he continues to lead the department.
Igor completed his PhD in 2003- Thrombolytic therapy of pulmonary embolism. He first met Dr Novick in 2004 and was a keen proponent in organising the collaborative surgical trips with Dr Novick and the International Children’s Heart Foundation.
He has worked with Dr Novick and his team in Kharkov and has also volunteered his time to teach in other programms in the developing world.
Igor’s clinical speciality is Interventional Cardiac Catheterisation and he is skilled in treating both Pediatric and adult patients. Igor is one of the founders of the Novick Cardiac Alliance and maintains close professional and personal ties with the whole team.
