Karen Bowtell is a Registered Nurse and Clinical Educator. She gained her nursing degree in 1995 from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane Australia. She then went on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Pediatric Intensive care at University of Melbourne, Australia.

Karen brings 16 years of PICU experience to the team and during that time she has worked in The Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane, The Royal children’s Hospital, Brisbane, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London and The Mater Children’s Hospital Brisbane.

In 2007 Karen began volunteering her time with Dr Novick’s team at the International Children’s Heart Foundation and in 2013 she began working full time with the team leading the PICU education in our partner hospital in Iraq.

She currently works full time with the Novick Cardiac Alliance and has done since it’s inception.
